Internship Program with Ohara Gakuen Students
Since last year, our office has welcomed students from Ohara Gakuen Vocational School specializing in bookkeeping and accounting for a two-week internship program every August.
This year, we hosted two interns and, with the mindset of “since they’ve come all this way, let’s give them real hands-on experience,” each staff member took turns designing practical training programs. These included journal entry input using accounting software, payroll calculation, and explanations of social insurance and tax systems.
We also invited the interns to attend our regular English-language consultation training program, allowing them to experience the atmosphere of working with foreign-affiliated companies.
We received the following positive feedback from the interns:
- “I was nervous at first, but being involved in actual work made accounting feel much more familiar.”
- “I enjoyed the journal entry tasks because they connected directly to what I’m currently studying.”
- “It was nerve-wracking to experience real work, but I had a great time.”
- “I’ve become interested in studying English.”
If we were able to provide an environment where they could feel the professionalism of the field while learning with peace of mind, we couldn’t be happier.
Both students were bright, polite, and highly capable, and by the end of the two weeks, our entire staff felt a bit sad to see them go.
We’re already looking forward to another wonderful encounter next year.
